Salt Lake-based Republic International Corp. has agreed to market and distribute an upscale line of children's clothing throughout the United States and Canada under the trade name "Finabel."
The Finabel Group is the fifth largest clothing manufacturer in France with annual sales in excess of $680 million French Francs (.S. $120 million). It has seven factories in France, two in Tunisia and one on Mauritius Island. These factories produce both the children's clothing line and men's clothing including Arrow, Conconde, Lords and Guy Laroche shirts.Republic Chairman Robert Radcliffe said that Republic intends to open retail stores initially in high market demand cities on a franchise or licensing basis. Stores will be opened primarily by Republic and then sold to investors.
The company plans to open a minimum of 200 stores over the first five years with a projection of $30 million to $40 million in annual retail gross sales.
