Marcia Ferguson, a clinical dietitian at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, has received the Outstanding Dietitian of the Year award.

A member of the Utah Dietetic Association, Ferguson has been a leader in improving the health of the community by promoting good nutrition.Her dietetic expertise helps veterans recovering from surgery at the local hospital. She also assists patients in the Hospital Based Home Care program to live with their diabetes, heart problems and other chronic diseases. She has conducted numerous workshops on nutrition at the hospital and in the community and has held cooking classes to demonstrate that the diet recommended by the American Heart Association can be delicious as well as nutritious.
