A New York man faces a June 20 arraignment in Utah federal court on charges he and his supply company defrauded Hill Air Force Base on defense contracts.

A federal grand jury indicted Martin Saltus, St. Albans, N.Y., and his company, Mar-Mac Precision Corp., for allegedly giving the Air Force false information in connection with two contracts to supply upper pin torque arms for aircraft.Prosecutors said the contracts spanned about 16 months during periods from September 1985 through July 1987.

The indictment alleges Saltus and Mar-Mac Precision "knew the parts supplied did not meet the specifications" set by the Air Force.
