Investigators have released descriptions of two men wanted for the rape of a woman who was attacked while changing a tire on Interstate 15 in Utah County.
The 19-year-old Salt Lake County woman was driving northbound between American Fork and Lehi just after midnight Tuesday when a tire went flat. She pulled over to the side of the road, put on the spare and had all but three lug nuts fastened when she was approached by two men.One forced her into the back seat of her car at knife point and raped her while the other pretended to fix the flat. The two men then apparently switched places, and the victim was raped by the other man.
The men left and the woman drove to a Riverton convenience store where the clerk dialed 911.
Investigators interviewed the victim Wednesday, and she was able to give partial descriptions of her attackers.
The victim "is beginning to recall more and more," said Sgt. Fred Baird, state Department of Public Safety. "We are keeping our fingers crossed that we can get enough information to get a composite sketch."
One man was in his late 20s or early 30s, with long black hair, curly on the ends. He was chubby, with a wide nose and wide-set eyes. The other was in his early to mid-20s with a thin mustache and short dark hair.
Investigators say the men were in a dirty, reddish two-door sedan, described as a "low-rider." The car, which resembled an Oldsmobile, also had chrome or silver hubcaps. Police say the car has white Utah license plates with the letters G and H.
