Motorists planning to visit a Division of Motor Vehicles office in Salt Lake County Thursday might want to make sure they know where they're going.
One office will close and two more will open as the county DMV reverts back to state control Thursday morning.Here are the changes:
- Murray. The existing DMV office at 4050 S. 500 West will close permanently at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
- Sandy. A new DMV office will open at 8948 S. State St., in a building that formerly housed a state liquor store, at 8 a.m. Thursday.
- Taylorsville. A new DMV office will open at 1750 W. 4160 South in the Carriage Square Shopping Center, where a bank was previously located, at 8 a.m. Thursday.
- Rose Park. The DMV office at 799 N. Redwood Road will continue to operate Thursday with no change in schedule or service.
Utah State Tax Commission officials say the two new offices will open on time and be able to handle all business Thursday morning. The phone number for all three Salt Lake County offices is 297-7780.
Motorists who need their automobile registration renewed have the option of visiting one of 14 businesses cer-ti-fied to both inspect vehicles and give out new license-plate stickers.
