Pumped by the polls, our president is conducting an all-out offensive. If he becomes any more self-confident, he will take back the apologies.

- Frantic haggling is under way in the Paula Jones settlement. First, Jones wanted a million dollars and an apology. Clinton countered with $500,000 and no apology. They may settle on $750,000 and a job at Revlon.- The White House says that a cash settlement should not be taken as an admission that Jones' accusations are true. Of course, it depends on what your definition of true is.
