Denise Blanchard, 40, our loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away September 28, 1998, at her home surrounded by her family, after an 11 month long battle with a brain tumor.
She was born April 28, 1958, in Seattle, Washington to Del Jean Cunningham Johnson and James Theo Johnson. She was married for a short time to Jim Wilson. Later she married Dave Blanchard, and even though divorced, he thoughtfully remained by her side to help our family in the care of Denise. For that friendship, he is so thanked, and we all love him for it. Thank you, thank you, Dave! You're a good guy! After graduating Granger High School, Denise worked at the Board of Education for a short time before going to work for the next 18 years for the Department of Defense at the Hercules Aerospace facility. Later she was promoted to a position at the Defense Contract Management Office as a quality control inspector for the Navy's Fleet Balistic Missile Systems.
Denise enjoyed being with the little ones most of all. She was a terrific aunt and loved spending time and buying gifts for them. She was also very fond of animals, joining many animal charity clubs and making many donations, even though she wished it could be more. She was a lovely person who will be tremendously missed by all of her family and friends.
