Mildred Lois Shire Adair, age 72, passed away peacefully Monday, September 28, 1998, surrounded by her loving family.

Mom was born January 29, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Winfield Scott and Louie Peterson Shire. She married Harold William Adair on April 9, 1949, who preceded her in death September 14, 1991.Our mother was the most giving person in the world, who always put others before herself. She was truly a saint. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. She loved all animals, the ocean and the mountains. Mom worked for many years in downtown Salt Lake City at J C Penney and the Card Box. Mom and Dad also enjoyed the years they spent together volunteering their time to the Westside Babe Ruth Baseball League.

Survived by her sons, Jim Kakunes (Pat), Scott (Bonnie), Richard (Marie), and Kevin; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; one brother, Edward (Pat); one sister, Blanche. Preceded in death by two brothers, Lewis and Bob, and one sister, Lillian.

The family would also like to extend deep appreciation for the loving care provided by Lisa Lord and Frankie Oakley.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 2, 1998, at 11 a.m. in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary Chapel, 10600 South 1700 East, where friends may call Thursday 7-9 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to the service. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
