Grace Simons Scott died September 26, 1998 in Kanab, Utah.
Born December 4, 1916 to Mary and George Simons. Born and raised in Salt Lake City. Married Roderick Scott. Lived in SLC; Inglewood, San Pedro, Wilmington, and Harbor City, California; and moved to Kanab, Utah in 1973.Active member of the LDS Church. Raised seven of her eight children and one grandson. Active member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She loved her grandchildren. She spent a lot of time hiking with her husband Rod in the beautiful desert country of Kanab. Death truly became her comforter and friend.
Survivors include children, David E. (Diana) Scott of Las Vegas, NV; Marsha (Charles) Eddy of Kanab; Saundra (Frank) Brower of St. George, UT; Roderick (Rori) Scott of Bullhead City, AZ; Gary S. Scott of Fredonia, AZ; Susan (Scott) Byers of Plecentia, CA; Michael G. (Sherry) Scott of Kanab; and a grandson, Nick Scott whom she raised; sisters, Marjorie Anderson Johnson of Provo; and Elaine Parker of Carefree, AZ; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded by a stillborn daughter, a twin brother, George Simons, and sisters, Ruth Christensen and Naomi Holmes.
Funeral services will be held Wed., Sept. 30, 1998 at 1 p.m. in the Kanab Kaibab Stake Center. Viewings Tuesday evening at the Stake Center from 7-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 11:45-12:45. Burial in the Kanab Cemetery under direction of Mosdell Mortuary.
