Members of the community are invited to join the Provo Police Department in tying purple ribbons around trees and on car antennas.

The purple ribbons signify anti-violence and will remain on the trees during October for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.Judy Bruyette, Provo police volunteer coordinator, has committed university students, high school students, police volunteers and others to tie the ribbons at the Historic County Courthouse and along University Avenue on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 2 p.m.
