A Provo man died Saturday night when his southbound vehicle swerved into northbound traffic, police said.
Killed was:Jon Troy Hancock, 32, Provo.
An Orem couple was also injured in the two-car collision.
Witnesses said Hancock was driving a vehicle erratically as it traveled east on 4800 North about 8:30 p.m., said Provo Police Lt. Greg Du Val.
After the vehicle turned south onto University Avenue, the driver suddenly applied his breaks for an unknown reason, lost control and veered into northbound traffic when the collision occurred on 4000 North University Ave., Du Val said.
Hancock, who was ejected from his car, was not wearing a seat belt. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The northbound vehicle was driven by Ben Swenson, 24, Orem. His wife, Allison, 23, was a passenger in the vehicle. They were taken to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. Both were listed in fair condition Monday morning, said hospital spokesman Anton Garrity.
