Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, is losing his chief of staff of four years and is promoting an aide from his Judiciary Committee to replace him.
Robert Dibblee, who also had served as the state director for former Sen. Jake Garn, R-Utah, is leaving Hatch's staff to become the senior vice president for government relations of the National Association of Independent Insurers.Replacing him is Patricia Knight, who has been serving on the Judiciary Committee chaired by Hatch and has also been his senior health care issues adviser for five years.
"I have deeply appreciated Robert's counsel and hard work," Hatch said.
About Knight, Hatch said, "She has been my point person on a variety of issues of concern to the Utah health community.
"I plan for Trish to continue to be actively involved in legislative matters, particularly the legislation for Utah's downwinders (cancer victims of atomic testing), as well as providing critical administrative counsel on the operations of my office."
