The International Convention of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers will be held at Little America Hotel, 500 S. Main, Friday, Oct. 2.

Book sales will begin at 8 a.m.; the business and general meeting will convene at 9:30 a.m., with luncheon following at 12:30 p.m. (by ticket only).The theme of this year's convention is "You Make the Difference." Mary A. Johnson, international president of The Daughters of Utah Pioneers, will preside and Donna Phippen, first vice president, is the chairwoman of the convention.

Keynote speaker will be Maureen Procter, an author of several books about LDS Church history and the pioneers' migration west. She is a writer for the television program, "The Spoken Word."

A special tribute to Jacqueline Leavitt, wife of Gov. Mike Leavitt, will be given, and the governor's mother, Ann Leavitt, will be honored.
