Don Baylor became the first manager to lose his job in the postseason when he was fired by the Colorado Rockies, according to published reports.

Baylor was bounced by owner Jerry McMorris and offered an administrative job, The Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News both reported Monday.McMorris decided to retain Bob Gebhard as general manager, both newspapers said, citing unidentified sources.

The Rocky Mountain News said McMorris planned to restructure the team's administration by offering Baylor the job of vice president and adding another vice president to work with Gebhard on player personnel.
