Herbert Fred Hoehne, age 74, died September 26, 1998 at his home in Bountiful, Utah after a valiant battle with cancer.

Born January 17, 1924 in Cuero, Texas to Henry Robert Frank Hoehne and Louise Wilhelmina Domann. Married Irene Hall on March 24, 1945 in Riverside, California. Marriage solemnized in Salt Lake Temple in 1952. Irene preceded him in death in 1987. Married Bettie Frazier Walker on October 8, 1988 in Salt Lake Temple. Served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Active member of the LDS Church, having served in two bishoprics and in the Dallas and Bountiful Temples. He owned and operated service stations for Phillips 66 and Conoco in Bountiful for many years.He retired in 1991 from the Utah State Health Department. He was noted for his hard work, integrity and dedication to his family. He was an avid boater, fisherman and gardener.

Survived by wife, Bettie; children, Bonita Hoehne, Olinda (John) Reynolds, Lucille (Frank) Mohlman, David (Deborah) Hoehne, Curtis (Joanne) Hoehne; 20 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; four step-children; 19 step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; sister, Annie Lee (william) Grimner of Cuero, TX

Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 30, 1998 at 11 a.m. in the Bountiful 39th Ward at 1500 S. 600 E. Bountiful, Utah. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bountiful 39th Ward and 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Lakeview Memorial Estates in Bountiful.
