Carrie Lynne Aiken, our sweet daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on Thursday, September 24, 1998 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born February 3, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Nathan Wilford Aiken and Nancy Lee Woodhead Aiken. She was the second of five children and through her many acts of kindness and selfless love, she has always been the heart of our family. She faithfully served in the South Carolina, Columbia mission for the LDS Church, and has been actively involved in many capacities including Relief Society president, Young Womens advisor, Primary teacher, and most recently, Relief Society teacher. A graduate of the University of Utah, she currently was working as a health care consultant at Medicode, where she enjoyed many friendships and associations.Words cannot express how much she will be missed by all who knew her and benefitted from her generous love. None will miss her more than her 12 nieces and nephews who spent so much time with her. She truly knew how to love and serve us all.

Survivors include her parents; brother, Gregory W. (Julie) Aiken; three sisters, Linda L. Aiken, Pamela (Bret) Tucker, and Marce (Chris) Sorensen; two grandmothers, Marguerite H. Woodhead and Juliet S. Aiken; and 12 nieces and nephews, with one on the way. She was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Willard Verl Woodhead and Henry Wilford Aiken; and a niece, Hannah Aiken Sorensen.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 1998 at 12 noon in the Valley View Stake Center, 2245 East 3900 South. Family and friends may call on Monday, September 28, 1998 from 6-8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, as well as from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment Valley View Memorial Park.

A special fund for the LDS missionary effort has been established at Zion's Bank in memory of Carrie.
