Positions for and against a proposed change in Salt Lake County's form of government will be given during a Thursday, Oct. 1, luncheon meeting of the Professional Republican Women of Utah (PRW).
The noon gathering at the Alta Club, 100 E. South Temple, will feature attorney Bruce Jones of the law firm, Suitter Axland, who will speak in favor of changing to a mayor-council system, and Lynn Price. President of PRW, former chairwoman of the Salt Lake County Republican Party and a member of a task force appointed by county commissioners to study the issue, Price will discuss the need to retain the commission form of government.Elephant Club members are invited to attend. Anyone interested in supporting the Republican Party is invited to join the sponsoring organization. If they pay in advance, members will be charged $13.50. Cost at the door will be $14.50. Guests are $15.50.
