Theda Bassett, who has composed poetry about the Alexander Neibaur family, will read about the family from her book, "Writing Between the Lines," at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, in the Murray City Library, 266 E. 5300 South.

The Neibaurs entered the Salt Lake Valley Sept. 22, 1848. Alexander Neibaur was Utah's first dentist and the first Jew to join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, according to Bassett.Bassett's poetry tells about the family, their crossing of the Atlantic, their time in Nauvoo, Ill., and their arrival in Utah.
