The $22 million Aline Wilmot Skaggs Biology Building at the University of Utah will be dedicated Monday.

"This building gives us state-of-the-art lab facilities that will allow us to continue our research activities at a faster pace," said John S. Parkinson, biology department chairman. The four-story facility, linked to another biology building via glass-enclosed skywalk, includes 24 research laboratories, a library reading room and auditoriums with seats equipped with connections for laptop computers.

The building was funded by private donations, including a $5 million grant from the Skaggs family's ALSAM Foundation.
