Vouchers for restaurant meals and temporary motel stays were provided to 25 individuals affected by an apartment complex fire Sunday, Sept. 20, in Midvale.

Also, the Greater Salt Lake Area Chapter of the American Red Cross says the agency supplied more than $2,700 to victims of the fire at 50 W. Inglenook Drive. The Red Cross will continue to provide ongoing recovery counseling and services to those affected by the fire.Sixteen apartment units were damaged, and eight of those were destroyed.

"Our volunteers were prepared and responded as quickly as possible to help fire victims," said Deborah Bayle, the chapter's chief executive officer.

Since January, the Red Cross has responded to 40 fires or other types of disasters where food, clothing, shelter and other provisions were supplied to those in need.
