Searchers have recovered the body of a television reporter who fell off a boat during an assignment on the St. Johns River.

The body of Hope Bartlett, 23, a reporter at WJXX-TV, was found Thursday evening more than a day after the accident that also killed the boat's owner, Willie L. Simmonds.Simmonds, 61, was piloting the boat when it made a sharp turn, throwing all four occupants into the water, said Lt. Bill Head of the Florida Marine Patrol.

Station photographer Elizabeth Meckley and the boat's deckhand, Dennis Reed, were unharmed.

Bartlett, who could not swim, was working on a story about the impact of a fishing net ban, the station said.

She had removed her life jacket to tape a segment of the story.
