An Orem woman died during a traffic accident Thursday when she was ejected from her vehicle and run over by a semitrailer truck near the mouth of Provo Canyon.

Killed was:Kristina Boone, 26, Orem.

Boone was attempting to make a left turn onto eastbound 800 North at 1565 East when she pulled in front of a westbound vehicle driven by George Campbell, 23, Provo, according to a preliminary investigation reported by Orem Police Lt. Bob Conner.

The vehicle collided with the victim's ceiling-less sport-utility vehicle, sending it into a spin, and ejected her onto the roadway. Boone landed in the inside eastbound traffic lane in front of an oncoming semi truck, driven by Mitch Hansen, 39, Taylorsville, killing her instantly.

Police believe the victim may have survived the accident if she had been wearing a seat belt.
