Paul Ray Fitzgerald, 78, of Springville, Utah, died September 22, 1998, after a long and courageous battle with cancer and Parkinson's Disease.
He was born in Elsinore, Utah, May 2, 1920, to Oliver Preston Fitzgerald and Christy Josephine Jensen. He married Naomi Brower in Fillmore, Utah, June 4, 1941, their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.Paul graduated from Delta High School. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Paul received a PhD from Utah State University. He was a Professor in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois, Urbana from 1965 - 1985. Paul was a member of the LDS Church and served in many positions including, stake presidency, high councilor, ward clerk.
His is survived by his wife; daughters: Nancy Dahl, Merrily Noble, Robin Fuellenbach; son: Patrick Fitzgerald; 14 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 26, 1998 at 2 p.m.in the Hobble Creek 10th Ward Chapel, 1965 East Canyon Road, Springville. Friends may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville, or Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery.
