Law enforcement officers are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in several area bank robberies.
About 3 p.m. Monday, a man entered the First Security Bank at 2201 E. 1300 South and presented a teller with a note demanding cash, according to a Federal Bureau of Investigation news release.The same man is a suspect in several recent bank robberies, including one two weeks ago at Trolley Square, 602 E. 500 South, said FBI Special Agent Craig Phillippe. The suspect is described as a white male with dark hair, 40 to 50 years of age, 5 feet, 4 inches to 5 feet, 6 inches tall, with a medium build.
Also Monday, a man robbed the Wells Fargo Bank at 710 S. 200 West about 3:40 p.m., said Salt Lake Police Lt. Sandra Urry. The man approached a teller, presented a note stating he had a gun and escaped with an undisclosed amount of money, Urry said. The man is described as a Hispanic male in his late 20s with dark hair. He was wearing a teal football jacket and jeans.
