Apparently inspired by the performances of such Latin legends as Tito Puente and Celia Cruz, Vice President Al Gore boogied on stage with wife Tipper at the Hispanic Heritage Awards.

Gore on Monday night honored Americans of Hispanic heritage with "unwavering belief in the American dream.""We are successful as a nation not in spite of our diversity, we are successful because of our diversity," Gore said to an enthusiastic crowd at the Kennedy Center.

Actor Martin Sheen and Women's National Basketball Association player Rebecca Lobo were among the award recipients.
