Betty Ruth Evans MacKay, passed away September 17, 1998 in Salt Lake City of heart failure.
She was born October 10, 1920 in Salt Lake City to John W. Evans and Pearl Hatch Evans. She married Gordon H. MacKay on May 12, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.She graduated from West High School and attended the U. of U. She was blessed with many gifts and talents. In her younger years, she played the cello in the Salt Lake Symphony and sang in the U. of U. production of the "Tales of Hoffman." She also enjoyed painting and creating beautiful art work. She was an exceptionally wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
Survived by her husband of 57 years, Gordon; two sons, Craig E. (Becky), Bruce E.; daughter, Patricia M. (Collier) Reid; six grandchildren, Jared MacKay, Camille, Mackay, Brodie, Dallas and Mitchell Reid. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Valgean; and sister, Ethel Hudson.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 1998 in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park (Rosemont Section), 3401 South Highland Drive, under the direction of the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary.
