An 18-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing another man 10 times last Saturday.

The defendant and another man apparently got into a fight near 250 S. 600 West, which led to the stabbing, prosecutors say. The victim suffered spleen and liver wounds during the brawl.The victim, Chris Malley, remained hospitalized in serious condition Wednesday, the hospital reported.

It was unclear whether the men knew each other or what caused the fight. The man faces a count of attempted murder, a second-degree felony, according to the charges filed in 3rd District Court.
