The Utah State Tax Commission is taking over operations of Salt Lake County's motor vehicle registration stations, so it will close the current Murray Division of Motor Vehicles office and open two others.
On Oct. 1 DMV offices in Sandy and Taylorsville will open and the Murray office close. The DMV's Rose Park office will remain open and at its current location, 700 N. Redwood Road.The Sandy office will be at the site of an old state liquor store, 8948 S. State. The Taylorsville office will be in the Carriage Square Shopping Center, 1750 W. 4160 South.
A Tax Commission spokeswoman said the commission is expanding a new program whereby car owners can pay their yearly vehicle property taxes and registration fees at vehicle emission inspection stations.
