An American Airlines jetliner made an unscheduled landing Thursday to remove a man who was apparently drunk and bothering the band Hootie and the Blowfish for autographs and a record deal.

Flight 133 with about 100 people aboard was en route from New York to Los Angeles when the pilot decided to land in Denver at 6 p.m.The man, Amit Singh, 39, reportedly walked into the first-class section and began asking for autographs. Band members say he sat on the floor and showed them a book of poetry and then asked how he could cut a record deal.

He allegedly attacked the band's bodyguard and several flight attendants before he was restrained with seat belts, police said. No one was hurt.
