The Institute of Museum and Library Services has announced $241,662 in awards to Utah museums to promote leadership, foster innovation and encourage a lifetime of learning. The awards provide critical support for museum operations, help museums care for collections and strengthen professional standards and practices within museums of all sizes and disciplines.

Museums receiving awards are: Braithwaite Fine Arts, $6,030; Iron Mission State Park, $1,775; Treehouse Children's Museum, $67,840; Utah Museum of Fine Arts, $22,401; Utah Museum of Natural History, $112,500 and $32,116.The IMLS awards are for general operating support, conservation project support, conservation assessment programs and museum assessment programs.
