Twenty-two sailboats moored at the Great Salt Lake Marina were burglarized Wednesday night by thieves who possibly entered the state-owned marina by boat, a Salt Lake County sheriff's detective says.

Stereos, spotlights, radios and other valuables were taken from the boats, all of them large sailboats over 20 feet long, sometime after 10 p.m., when the area is secured, Detective Harold Steffee said.

The incident is similar to one in 1986 in which burglars entered the area by inflatable boat, Steffee said.
