An Ogden man was put on probation Friday for the vehicle death of a Montana woman last fall.

Gordon Ross, 50, also was ordered to pay a $2,500 fine and restitution for the death of Sherry Greer, 38, Great Falls. He was sentenced by 2nd District Judge Ronald O. Hyde.

Prosecutors said Ross was driving drunk and speeding when his vehicle struck a car driven by Greer last October. Greer was turning right onto Harrison Boulevard when Ross hit her. He was driving south on Harrison.

He had been charged with automobile homicide, a third-degree felony, but agreed May 9 to enter a guilty plea to a class A misdemeanor charge of negligent homicide.
