Donal Roundy, 77 of Midvale, Utah died Monday, September 14, 1998 at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was born in Alton, Utah on August 8, 1921 to Elbert Carter and Bessie Robertson Roundy.He married Ursel Brough on July 21, 1946 Don was a truck driver by profession but his true love was flying. He was active in the Civil Air Patrol and received the rank of captain. He was a flight instructor for Dixie College and flew for the St. George Municipal Airport. He enjoyed fishing and spending time at his cabin at Panquitch Lake. He served his country during World War II as an aviation machinist mate in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years son, Donal Reid Roundy, Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Diane Phillips (Craig) St. George, UT; Debra Jensen (Barton) Kearns, UT; seven grandchildren; four great-grandsons brothers, Verdal Roundy, Whittier, CA; Maurice "Tuck" Roundy, Taylorsville, UT; sister, Anabel Perkins, Redding, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Merlin, Devon "Hub", Raymond and sister, Lucille.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 19, 1998 in the East Midvale 2nd Ward Chapel, 7250 South 300 East, Midvale, Ut. Friends may call Friday, September 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East and on Sat. one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at the Bountiful City
