Lawrence Clement Swenson, born Aug 25, 1912, Winfield, Kansas passed away Sept 14, 1998 at his home in Grantsville, Utah.

Larry joined the U.S. Navy in 1934 and was honorably discharged after 20 years of service. He served his country in World War II, the Korean War and the Occupation of China. He moved to Utah in 1955, where he met the love of his life, Wilma Rebecca Abrams Freston. They were married March 9, 1956. In October, 1956, he was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. On March 13, 1958, their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple. Serving in many capacities, Larry influenced the lives of all those around him, earning their respect and love. Together with his wife, he served a mission for the LDS Church in Ventura, Calif.He loved to hunt, fish, camp, and share his life experiences with those he loved.

He was a craftsman and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by: wife, Wilma, Grantsville, Utah; son, John (Barbara) Swenson, Cambridge, Mass.; daughters JoAnne Johnson, Tooele, Utah; Susan (Frank) Yukon, Washington; sons; Marvin (Alicia) Swenson, Elko, Nevada; Matt (Carreen) Swenson, Grantsville, Utah. He had 26 grand-children and eight great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by father and mother, John and Fannie Swenson; son, Larry Swenson; and daughter, Rebecca Callister.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept 17, 1998 at 1 p.m. in the Grantsville 9th Ward, 415 West Apple St. A viewing will be held at Tate Mortuary 110 So Main St. Tooele, Wed. evening from 6-8 p.m., and at the church one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Interment, Grantsville City Cemetery.
