Bountiful police on Friday arrested a man in connection with two area bank robberies.
"The police received information about the case and acted on that information," said Bountiful Police Cpl. Jon Hadlow.Friday afternoon, police arrested the 48-year old suspect without incident in the Bountiful neighborhood in which he had been staying. He was booked into jail on suspicion of aggravated bank robbery.
On Aug. 19, a man approached a teller inside the Zions Bank at the Smith's Food and Drug Center, 2399 S. Main. The man showed the teller a handgun and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The same man was also a suspect in the Sept. 4 robbery of a Washington Mutual Bank inside Fred Meyer, 555 S. 200 West.
The Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office and the FBI were also instrumental in the investigation.
