A Park City police officer was struck by a car Wednesday while assisting at the scene of an accident.
Sgt. Rick Ryan was hit about 9 p.m. on Deer Valley Drive near Park City while directing traffic in the southbound lanes. Ryan was helping other officers and rescue workers with an earlier accident where a car collided with a moose, according to a Utah Highway Patrol report.Ryan was attempting to stop southbound traffic when he was hit by a car driven by Kip M. Carman, age unavailable, South Salt Lake.
The officer was flown to University Medical Center where he was treated and later released, according to the Summit County Sheriff's office.
