Yale University's medical school will pay $5.6 million to the federal government, the state and private insurance companies to settle a three-year investigation into double billing.

Yale will pay approximately $2.5 million to the state, $1.9 million to private insurers, and $1.2 million to the federal government, the U.S Attorney's Office said Tuesday.Yale also will file advertisements in area newspapers this week to attempt to notify patients who may be entitled to an estimated $620,000 in refunds.
