Last month, the National Geographic Society published "MARS: Uncovering the Secrets of the Red Planet," a hardback book loaded with history, photos and the most recent findings about Mars. Matthew P. Golombek, interviewed in this section, wrote the book's forward and features prominently in the text by Paul Raeburn.

Sandi Mendelson of National Geographic Books noted that several of the pictures are in stereo. "Pull-out glasses allow readers to experience in 3-D what it is like to stand on the dusty, boulder-strewn planet," she said."MARS" is available in bookstores nationwide.
