Alan J Steadman, beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away September 7, 1998. He was 61 years old.
Alan was a graduate of Jordan High School and the University of Utah. He was a retired federal employee.Alan will be best remembered for his undying love for people and his boundless love for life. His exemplary life, positive attitude, and ability to turn challenges into opportunities gave all who knew him a guideline to follow. The greatest joy in Alan's life was his family and serving in his church and community. Throughout his life, he faithfully served in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including bishop of the Midvale East First Ward. His congregation will fondly remember the foreign language birthday wishes sung to them. His love for serving as bishop was exceeded only by the joy brought to him through faithful home teaching.
Alan was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Henry Steadman, and is survived by his wife, Sharon Curtis Steadman; his children, Curtis (Cheryl); Kyle (Carolyn); and Shemayne Pitts (Sean); 12 grandchildren; and his mother, Roxey Wilcox Steadman Anderson. His surviving brothers and sisters include Evelyn (Shirl) Kirk, of Vernal; Vance (Nancy) of Vernal; Richard (Laura) of San Jose, California; Neal (Diana) of Murray; and Kenneth (Ruth) of West Jordan.
Funeral services Saturday, September 12th, 11 a.m., in the Midvale East First Ward Chapel, 240 East 7570 South, where friends may call on Saturday from 9-10:45 a.m. Interment, Redwood
