If your feet sometimes tingle, feel numb or cold, or if you have leg pain when you walk that is relieved by resting, you may be experiencing the signs of peripheral arterial disease (PAD).

The Murray City Heritage Center, in conjunction with Salt Lake County Aging Services, will hold a free PAD screening clinic on Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 9 a.m. until noon.Smokers, diabetics and people with high blood pressure or high cholesterol are especially at risk for PAD.

The screening is simple and painless. A clinician will ask general health questions and take blood pressure measurements at the arm and leg. Women should wear ankle socks or knee-high hose that can be easily removed, not pantyhose.

The Heritage Center is located at 10 E. 6150 South, Murray. Appointments can be made beginning Wednesday, Sept. 9, by calling 264-2635.
