Bob R. Lougy, age 67, passed away September 1, 1998 in West Valley City, Utah, after losing a long and courageous battle with cancer, but won the hearts of all who knew him.

Born May 31, 1931 in Tooele, Utah, son of James and Della Fawson Lougy. Married Fern Worthen December 21, 1974 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was honorably discharged from the US Navy. He was a pilot and loved to fly, camp and travel. He was an accomplished guitar player and was a member of "The Hangmen," a local honky tonk band.Survived by wife, Fern; daughters, Brenda (Scott) Horne, Sandy (Steve) Harnsberger, Teresa Larsen, Connee (Scott) Pierce; 10 grandchildren, Bobby, Brady, Aaron, Austin, Alexandra, Adam, Scott, Audrey, Amanda, and Jason; two expectant great-grandchildren; also guardian and loving dad to Fern's children, Harvey (Jill) Peterson, Donna (Tom) Ostler, Charlene (Kevin) Harley, Rod (Kim) Peterson, Julie (Jeff) Dale; 18 grandchildren; sister, Dorothy (Verd) Carter; brother, Curt (Corinne) Lougy.

"Audrey, your grandpa will be eternally grateful to you for helping him take care of your grandma." He used his matchless sense of humor to tease and play with all 28 of his grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, 12 noon at the Hillsdale Ward, 3175 South 3450 West. Friends and family may call Friday, 5-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Saturday at the church, 11-11:45 p.m.
