Dorothy Vernon Blonquist, 85, passed away Sunday, August 30, 1998 in Ogden, Utah of causes incident to age.

She was born November 18, 1912 in Rockport, Utah to James Vernon and Mary Jane Hodgson Vernon. She grew up in Rockport and graduated from North Summit High School. She graduated as a registered nurse from the Dee Hospital in 1933.On August 15, 1934 she married her beloved husband of 47 years Chester Earl Blonquist. They were parents of four children: two daughters, Luella (Tom) Judd, Linda (Kent) Garfield; two sons, Spug (Lynette), and Jim (Donna Jean), all of Coalville.

Dorothy was a life long member of the LDS faith, serving in many capacities including the name extraction program for many years.

Mom's home and family were the most important thing in the world to her. She was her happiest when she was helping and supporting her husband, children and grand kids. She loved to travel, shop, cook and work in her yard. She was friendly and pleasant to everyone, always a lady.

She is survived by her children, 13 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two grandchildren, Laurel Ann and Jim Garfield; her sister, Evelyn Juluson; brother, Rex Vernon; and nine half brothers and sisters.

Funeral service will be held Friday, September 4, 1998 at 1 p.m. in the Coalville Stake Chapel with Bishop Doug Moore officiating.

Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary in Coalville, Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Interment, Coalville City Cemetery.
