Joseph A. Delpha, age 84, died September 1, 1998 in Price.
He was born March 30, 1914 in Bedford, Indiana, to Peter and Mary Delpha. Married Mary Notarianni, February 15, 1942 in Price, Utah. Member Notre Dame Catholic Church, where he was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus and served on many other positions of honor. Served US Army, World War II. Honorary life member and trustee of Price Elk's Lodge #1550. Past president and honorary life member of Price Kiwanis. Past Commander and District Commander of the Price American Legion Post #3. Member Forty and Eight, and past president of the Knife and Fork Club. Joe was the first cafeteria manager at Carbon College and a former administrator of the Carbon Hospital. Served as Civil Defense Coordinator for Carbon County and also was affiliated with many other civic, fraternal and social affiliations in the area.Survived by wife, Mary N. Delpha, Price; niece, Carol M. Oliver, Salt Lake City; and other loving nieces, nephews and a community of friends.
Funeral Mass, Friday, September 4, 1998, 10 a.m. Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Vigil Service Thursday evening 7 p.m. Mitchell Chapel, where friends may call daily 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Committal Service: Price City Cemetery.
