CMT 300: Jeff Gordon drove the final 133 laps with the same left-side tires and held off archrival Mark Martin to win the CMT 300 in Loudon, N.H. The victory enabled Gordon to maintain his 67-point lead over Martin in the Winston Cup standings.

Gordon also became the first three-time winner in the six years of racing at NHIS, as his Chevrolet beat Martin's Ford to the finish line by 0.644 seconds. John Andretti was third in a Pontiac.

ATLANTA 500 CLASSIC: On Saturday night, Kenny Brack pulled away over the final 13 laps in an A.J. Foyt-owned car to win the inaugural Atlanta 500 Classic. It was the third straight victory for the Swedish driver, the longest winning streak in the history of the 3-year-old IRL.


HAMLET CUP: Second-seeded Patrick Rafter defeated No. 8 seed Felix Mantilla 7-5 (7-3), 6-2 to win the Hamlet Cup in Commack, N.Y., and declared he is ready to defend his U.S. Open title. It was Rafter's third victory in as many matches against Mantilla.

MFS PRO CHAMPIONSHIPS: At Brookline, Mass., fourth-seeded Michael Chang won his first title of the year with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Paul Haarhuis at the MFS Pro Championships.

PILOT PEN INTERNATIONAL: Steffi Graf continued her dominance over Wimbledon champ Jana Novotna, with an easy 6-4, 6-1 victory to earn the Pilot Pen International title on Saturday in New Haven, Conn.
