Shirley R. Deaton, age 72, our loving wife, mother, grandmother and precious friend, passed away August 27, 1998 from complications of Alzheimer's Disease.

Born May 10, 1926, Salina, Utah, the youngest child of James and Floridabelle Oldham Reynolds. Married James L. Deaton, on May 24, 1946, Ely, Nevada; marriage solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.She was an active member of the LDS Church serving in many leadership positions. She completed an LDS full-time mission with her husband in the Birmingham, Alabama Mission. She was a devoted wife, mother and loving friend to all she knew. She dedicated her life in compassionate service to others. She greeted everyone she met with a hug and smile.

Survived by her husband, James; son, Dennis R. (Susan); son, James Q.; son, Gary L. (Teresa); daughter, JaLee Savage (Brett); son, Kelly R. (Sandra); 21 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Funeral service 12 noon, Monday, August 31st, at the Oak Grove LDS Ward Chapel, 11200 South Wasatch Blvd. (2800 East), Sandy. A viewing will be held for family and friends from 10:30-11:45 a.m. prior to the service. A public viewing will also be held Sunday evening 6-8 p.m. August 30th, at the Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy.

Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
