Gerald L. "Jake" Golding passed away peacefully Thursday, August 27, 1998, surrounded by his loved ones.

Jake was born to Seamon Anthony and Myrtle Edwards Golding on April 20, 1927 in Kenilworth, Carbon County, Utah. Jake had four great loves in his life: Norma Rae Naylor, with whom he had four children; Carol Dye, Sharon Kent, and Charlene Woodhead. Jake had a great life, especially due to the companionship and love of his best friends, Sharon and Charlene, who were always there for him. Jake did everything in his life "hard" - he worked hard, played hard, and loved hard. He was a coalminer, construction worker and carpenter. He loved camping, hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors. One of the greatest accomplishments in his life was recently receiving his chip for 11 years sobriety from AA.Preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; three sisters; son, Robert; and grandson, Randy. Survived by sister, Nida Golding Helsten; children, Gerald Eugene (Dianna) Golding; Peggy Lorene (Robert) Anderton; and Scott (Terri) Golding; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; as well as Charlene and Sharon and their families.
