A Cottonwood Heights man has been charged with running an unlicensed dentistry practice out of his basement.

On March 13, members of the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Special Investigations/Major Felony Unit served a search warrant at 1375 E. 6710 South and found several large suitcases containing more than 100 pounds of marijuana, according to charges filed in 3rd District Court Monday.Detectives also found "a makeshift dental office, complete with syringes, anesthetics, prosthetic dental appliances, dental tools and removed teeth," the charges state.

The man, 45, has been charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a second-degree felony, and engaging in the unlicensed practice of dentistry, a third-degree felony. A $10,000 warrant has been issued for his arrest.
