Visitors to Capitol Reef National Park can leave their wallets home for Tuesday.

Superintendent Michelle Jackson announced that visitors will not be charged a fee for entrance to the park Tuesday, Aug. 25. Popular activities and sites in the park include Fruita Rural Historic District, the Scenic Drive, hiking and driving routes in Grand Wash, Capitol Gorge, Cathedral Valley and the Waterpocket District.The free entrance day for national parks is a long-standing tradition for celebrating the anniversary of the founding of the National Park Service Aug. 25, 1916.
