John J. Mannos, age 82, passed away August 24, 1998 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born August 21, 1916 in Farmington, Utah to James and Kaliope Mannos. Married Mary Saltas in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 22, 1940. He was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church. John retired in 1982 as a truck and shovel foreman at Kennecott Copper after 42 years of service. His many hobbies included gardening, golfing, fishing, and hunting.Survivors: wife, Mary, Midvale; children, Jim (Mickie), Taylorsville; Tom (Agnes), George, all Reno, Nevada; Very Reverend Makarios, Pueblo, Colorado; Susan Wright (Edward), Florida; Joe (Norma), West Jordan, Utah; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Gus (Elizabeth), Spirro (Mary), George (Mary), all Salt Lake City; Helen Stanley and Katherine Copas, both San Antonio, Texas; nieces and nephews; also cousins in Greece; and many friends.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 26, 1998 at 1 p.m. in the Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church 5335 South Highland Drive. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Tuesday 6-8 p.m. Trisagion service 7:30 p.m. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 South Redwood Road.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions can be made to Prophet Elias Building Fund.
