The Salt Lake Buzz hit a franchise record five home runs to beat the Iowa Cubs 9-6 in Pacific Coast League action Sunday.
Cubs starter Kevin Foster (4-6) allowed eight hits and seven runs, including five home runs, in 32/3 innings.By the top of the fourth, the Buzz led 7-2 off homers by Chris Latham, Torii Hunter, Esteban Beltre, Corey Koskie, and Scott Stahoviak and two runs scored on hits.
Iowa's Robin Jennings belted a two-run shot in the bottom of the fourth, Alan Zinter homered in the sixth, and Micah Franklin had one in the eighth. That wasn't enough since the Buzz scored two more runs in the game.
Buzz starter Dan Perkins (3-0) allowed seven hits and six runs in 7 2/3 innings for the win.
The Central Division leading Cubs' record drops to 78-51. The Southern Division second place Buzz improve to 71-57.
